1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide to Us

When you create an account, place an order, or apply to become a cook on FOODI™ we collect:

• Full name and email address
• Phone number and delivery address
• Profile information including biography and profile photo
• Payment information (processed securely through Stripe — we do not store card numbers)
• For cooks: MEHKO permit number, food safety certification, kitchen inspection records, and bank account information for payouts
• Content you post including recipes, photos, videos, and other creator content
• Communications you send to us or other users through the platform

Information Collected Automatically

When you use our platform we automatically collect:

• Device information including device type, operating system, and unique device identifiers
• Log data including IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time spent
• Location information when you permit location access to find nearby cooks
• Usage data including orders placed, cooks followed, and content viewed
• Cookie and tracking technology data as described in Section 6

Information from Third Parties

We may receive information about you from:

• Stripe — payment processing and identity verification
• LA County Environmental Health — MEHKO permit verification for cook applicants
• Social media platforms when you connect your accounts

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account and provide our marketplace services
• Process orders and payments between customers and cooks
• Verify MEHKO permits and food safety certifications for cook applicants
• Facilitate communication between customers and cooks
• Process cook payouts every Friday via Stripe Connect
• Display your cook profile, menu, and creator content to customers
• Send order confirmations, receipts, and service notifications
• Send marketing communications where you have provided consent
• Improve and personalize your experience on the platform
• Ensure compliance with California MEHKO law and our Cook Host Agreement
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our terms
• Comply with legal obligations

3. How We Share Your Information

With Other Users

Cook profiles including name, photo, biography, location, menu, ratings, and creator content are visible to customers on the platform. Customer names and order details are shared with the cook fulfilling your order.

With Service Providers

We share information with trusted third-party service providers who help us operate FOODI™:

• Stripe — payment processing and cook payouts
• Base44 — app hosting and infrastructure
• Google Workspace — business communications
• Mailchimp or similar — email communications

With Regulatory Authorities

We may share information with LA County Environmental Health and other regulatory bodies as required to verify MEHKO compliance and respond to lawful requests.

We Do Not Sell Your Data

FOODI™ does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes. We are a marketplace platform — your data is used to operate FOODI™, not to profit from your personal information.

4. Payment Processing

All payments on FOODI™ are processed by Stripe, Inc. When you make a purchase or receive a payout as a cook, your payment information is transmitted directly to Stripe using industry-standard encryption.

FOODI™ does not store your credit card number, debit card number, or bank account details on our servers. Stripe's privacy policy governs the handling of your payment information and can be found at stripe.com/privacy.

The FOODI™ platform automatically retains a 20% platform fee on each transaction and transfers 80% to the cook's connected Stripe account. Payouts are processed every Friday.

5. Location Information

FOODI™ requests access to your device's location to show you licensed home kitchen cooks near you. Location access is optional — if you decline, you can still use the platform by entering your address manually.

Cook locations are displayed as general neighborhoods, not precise street addresses, to protect cook privacy while still enabling local discovery.

You can disable location access at any time in your device settings.

6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

FOODI™ uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to:

• Keep you logged into your account
• Remember your preferences and cart contents
• Analyze how our platform is used to improve the experience
• Prevent fraud and ensure security

You can control cookie settings through your browser preferences. Note that disabling cookies may affect some platform functionality including staying logged in.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. Specifically:

• Account information is retained until you delete your account
• Order history is retained for 7 years for tax and legal compliance purposes
• Cook permit and certification records are retained for the duration of activity plus 3 years
• Payment records are retained as required by Stripe and applicable law
• Creator content is deleted within 30 days of account deletion

8. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information including:

• SSL/TLS encryption for all data transmitted to and from our platform
• Stripe's PCI-compliant payment processing
• Secure password hashing and authentication
• Regular security audits and monitoring
• Limited employee access to personal data on a need-to-know basis

While we take reasonable precautions, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong unique password and notify us immediately of any suspected unauthorized access.

9. Children's Privacy

FOODI™ is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@getfoodi.com and we will promptly delete the information.

Users must be at least 18 years old to become a cook on the FOODI™ platform and to conduct financial transactions.

10. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

As a California-based business, FOODI™ complies with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). California residents have the following rights:

Right to Know

You have the right to request information about the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources of that information, the purposes for which we use it, and the third parties with whom we share it.

Right to Delete

You have the right to request deletion of personal information we have collected about you, subject to certain exceptions required by law.

Right to Opt Out of Sale

FOODI™ does not sell personal information. You therefore have no need to opt out of a sale of personal information.

Right to Non-Discrimination

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights.

How to Submit a Request

To exercise your California privacy rights contact us at privacy@getfoodi.com. We will respond to verifiable requests within 45 days as required by the CCPA.

11. Third Party Services

FOODI™ integrates with the following third party services. Each has its own privacy policy:

• Stripe (stripe.com/privacy) — payment processing and cook payouts
• Base44 (base44.com) — app hosting and infrastructure
• Google Workspace (policies.google.com/privacy) — business communications
• LA County Environmental Health (ph.lacounty.gov) — MEHKO permit verification

FOODI™ is not responsible for the privacy practices of these third party services. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

12. User-Generated Content Disclaimer

FOODI™ is a user-generated content platform. Cooks and community members may post photos, videos, recipes, descriptions, and other content. While we strive to maintain a safe and appropriate environment, FOODI™ does not pre-screen or moderate all user-generated content before it is published.

FOODI™ is not responsible for exposure to content that you may find offensive, inappropriate, inaccurate, or objectionable. If you encounter content that violates our community standards, please report it to privacy@getfoodi.com and we will review and take appropriate action.

By using FOODI™ you acknowledge that you may be exposed to user-generated content and that your use of the platform is at your own discretion.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, send an email notification to registered users, and display a notice on the FOODI™ platform.

Your continued use of FOODI™ after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
